The condition is often picked up with routine blood tests during pregnancy, and if well controlled will often have no affect on you or your baby. 

If you have been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, you are at higher risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes in the future, though assuming you have been tested following birth and your levels have returned to normal, there should be no impact on your Life Insurance policy.
