Ageas Protect Gender Directive Promise
The Insurance Company Ageas Protect (formally known as Fortis Life) has recently made a promise to all customers applying for Life Insurance with their company.
As a result of the European Gender Directive, which comes into force on 31st December 2012, many Life insurance and other protection policies are set to increase in price. Ageas Protect has stated that anyone who applies for a police before this date, where the application gets referred for further evidence past 31st December 2012, will still receive premiums at the lower rate when terms are offered for the policy.
Ageas Protect is currently the only UK insurer to be offering this guarantee at this point in time. It is possible that other UK insurers will follow suit and make the same promise to their customers.
